OK, just to clarify. Here is a question from an application I just worked on:

"      ost-Collegiate Activities:

       List community activities and professional associations in which you have participated   since graduation from college. Include the organization name, your role, elected office held, and dates of participation."

In this case, "office held" refered to whatever the title you  held in a particaular activity. I don't know of any other incidence such phrases are used. But I could be wrong. Philikittist, is you question in the same context?

Office在英语里的确也有职务的意思

但是对应这里的上下文，也太容易混淆了吧

your elected office held = student association president

your role = your specific duties as the president
