Go to weekly seminars. (Only one paper gets presented in two or three hours. And the frequency (one per week) indicates this is a slow method of getting updated. Not expected to cover a lot of things in a short time.) 3. Visit websites of big gurus to check their working papers. (Few professors put their working papers online nowadays.) So, how does one get to know what topics are hot in the area?
