Your strong grades and 700+ GMAT make you a viable applicant just about anywhere, and your consulting experience at a "top" U.S. firm helps your cause as well. The 'X' factors in your application will be the degree to which you can demonstrate multidimensionality beyond your grades and professional achievements - explain how you have made a difference in the lives of others outside of yourself through extracurricular activities and community involvement. Also, Business Schools are going to wonder a bit as to why you want to attend business school - the networking argument won't hold as much water, considering you have already earned a Masters degree at a Top 15 Business School, and for that matter, they may even question why you need another Masters Degree and start wondering whether you're a professional student. So be clear about why in fact you want to go to B-School, and narrow the field a bit for yourself, make a concerted effort to convince a few top schools of why you really want to go to their school specifically. There is a lot to like in your profile, but you must make it clear as to why the MBA fits into your life after the previous graduate degree, and that the MBA aligns fully with your long-term goals. -- by 会员 StevenBrachman (2012/10/8 12:47:36)
Thank you so much! I think you are absolutely right!!! (1) I already had my Master degree in Business School. Especially, I had all of my master's class with MBA students! (I was team member with MBA students for almost all the classes). So, I really need to tell MBA admission's office why I really need another Master's degree in B-School. (2) I think "fit" (both for my previous graduate degree and long-term career goal) is very important as well!! I really need to tell admissions office why I want to apply for MBA at this time, how I could leverage my past experience and how it will benefit me!!!
Thank you very much for your great advice!!! |
