I would appreciate it if you could give me some suggestions about how to build a good credit history.

I came to America just 3 month as a phd student and got my SSN on late July. I just have applied two cards: citi divident student and discover student and successfully got them last week.

Do you think I should try more cards? Because I am new here and no matter I failed or not, I will always wait a year to rehabilitate.

Or I simply use these two cards and gradually improve my credit score? If so, could you give me some tips about using credit cards?

我的建议，你已经申到的两张卡平常就尽量用起来，绿纸不要轻易用出去。每个月账单付清，每个月付的时候每隔15天付一次，不要一月就付一次。过3,4个月之后再申运通或者Visa。总之四种卡至少要齐全。
申卡被据之后要打reconsideration back door电话，google一搜就有。

希望对你有帮助。总之一句话;能用信用卡的地方，现金，支票，借记卡绝不要用出去。

请问为什么用卡不要超过授信额度的30%？不是鼓励你刷越多越好，只要按时还钱就行了啊

lz好帖子，不过，最近不知道是不是因为经济好转的原因，discover卡开始放松了限制，学生申请很容易。一开卡就是750的限额。不过这家也的确比较小众。
