With the constant advancement of social civilization and rapid development of global economy, more and more students choose to enter the universities for a high education which will give them a good position in their future life. So the the choice which is about that university professors how to distribute their time to educate students or do research become a popular topic. Both of the works are important not only to students but also to university’s development. But as far as I’m concerned, the research is more significant than educating by following reasons.

First of all, if professors devote much more their time to research, maybe some new methods of educating will be came up with. Apparently, the quality of educating is based on the method of how to educate. So, the time which is used on doing research for educational method is pretty crucial. Besides, if they find some interseting methods, such as a psychological method which can make the students love to pay more attention to their study, that will definitely help them study efficient and improve their grade in study. For instance, one of my classmates was not interested in study at all, so he never got a good score in his examination. Fortunately, his professor told him how much efforts and times he spent on his study, then how much achievement he would acquire. Also the professor told him to convert the boring study into a perfect future in his mind. After that little talk, my classmate just became a person who have a plenty of energy on study. This example can indicate the meaning of a psychological method.

Furthermore, when professors concentrate in doing research, the probablity of whether they could broaden their horizon will increase. Almost students’ knowledges are obtained from their professors. So, doing research can amplify professors’ academic field, as well as students. For example, if a professor got stuck into a question from his student, then not only the student cannot acquire the knowledge he wants to know, but also the student will think about that his professor is not appropriate to be a good teacher. On the contrary, if a student think his professor is very knowledgable, he will appreciate him and spend more time in his class. That is also good for students’ enthusiasm on study.

Third, if they use their major time to do research, perhaps they will obtain some rewards for university. That will be very helpful for university’s development. Because of these rewards, the university will be more celebrated amoung all university in this country. So more and more students will be sent by their parents since they believe in this university’s ability. In addition, the fund will increase for building new facilities of experiment, large playground, and even beautiful edifices. That is a positive circle.

Although the time spending on teaching is also meaningful, its advantages cannot beyond the advantages from doing research.. Once professors create a new finding on their ken, as the same time their students would benefit a lot. Moreover, there are some assistants which are major in teaching students. In that way, professors don’t have to teach students basic knowledge by themselves, they would save more time to continue their research. That are reasons I indicated to explain my opinion above.
