整体finance来说，IB难度较大，corporate finance机会较多。UNC的real state方向是较其它学校强，目前还没有看到中国学生focus在这个方向，美国同学较多。

2年的MBA有health care方向，目前和duke,unc的医学院都有dual degree。学校跟health care公司整体关系较好，每年都有去J&J, Eli Lilly等公司的

UNC的前辈你们好，我看过学校的网站后感觉UNC是一个学术气息很重的学校，课程都感觉比较难，不知道这样的感觉是不是正确？另外，学校有没有什么独特的culture呢？看网站觉得这方面的信息很模糊啊~

如版主所言，UNC的MBA项目强调多维度的培养Leadership，leadership的学分在第一年必须修够12分，但是学校提供有很多方式完成这些学分。个人感觉leadership首先还是要看自己的主观能动性。以下是学校关于leadership的一些信息和注释

1.Pre-MBA Multi-Rater Leadership Assessment that identifies developmental opportunities and facilitates the creation of a plan of action. - 入学前，需要曾经的同事做一份非常详细的对你的评价
2.Interaction with successful executives during Lessons of Experience discussions. - 有leadership周，不同行业成为leader的UNC校友会回来分享
3.Access to unique business simulations, including the Managerial Simulation, New Leader Simulation, and Diagnosing and Leading Change, which test your ability to solve problems, empower and delegate, and influence. - 去年做过一个比较有意思的电脑模拟，为一家陷入困境的企业提供整改的咨询服务，了解企业困境和主要人员后，选择整改方案，每一步方案都会影响随后事态发展，如果选择得当，模拟结束后系统才会给出高分。如果分数较低，系统会给出差距分析。小组讨论调整整改方案后重新模拟
4.Assigned MBA and Executive Leadership Coaches who provide guidance, feedback and support throughout the program. - 二年级同学会成为一年级同学的coach。
5.Real-world, action-learning opportunities to solve business challenges and interact with business leaders as a STAR team member or leader. - star是把课上的东西直接用在为当地企业的实际咨询项目上
6.Leadership positions supported by an “Elected Leaders” course with one-on-one coaching.

7.Formal, peer-to-peer feedback. - 二年级同学可以申请成为peer counselor帮助一年级东西顺利过渡和重新适应学校生活，把自己曾经经历的各种都与一年级分享。一年级一来都有study group，会有一个二年级的同学作为coach，了解所负责的一年级小组的情况，并且提供更好进行teamwork的建议
8.Self-assessment survey which identifies your strengths and vulnerabilities. - 做完survey，会有leadership的课帮助你如何分析你的结果
9.Courses that improve your strategic thinking, analytical skills, general management perspective, communication and team effectiveness.
10.Leadership Immersion and Sustainability Immersion capstone courses with an intense focus on personal development. - 选修课和必修课都有涉及

美国主要大学学术氛围都比较浓，课主要是根据个人职业方向进行选择。  health care占美国经济比重较大
，UNC对于之很重视，今年新增加了health care的concentration，并提供7门与之相关的课程。同时，二年级有6个中国同学分别去了强生和Eli Lily，和Amgen做的intern。
房地产也是UNC的传统，但是最近些年没有中国同学做这个，美国同学做的比较多。
UNC人都很好，有campus visit的同学们体会会更深。作为NCAA多年的总冠军，UNC为篮球疯狂，并且非常骄傲的称自己为Tar Heels（名字源于北卡的发展历史），这也是州里人对自己的称呼。

前辈你好，看了下历史就业数据，发现中国人找的实习基本都在医药行业的marketing，那如果在这方面毫无兴趣是不是就跟UNC不fit了？

Yes, most of the students do stay on the east coast.  However, since they are some who want to work on west coast afterwards, the school is trying to expand its influence on the west coast as well, primarily in LA and bay area.  They have dedicated person from career service focusing efforts on west coast.
