DescriptionWe are seeking outstanding candidates for a Ph.D. student position in the School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at Oregon State University.   referred qualifications include a B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering (with emphasis in Power Systems) or a related discipline (e.g. Industrial Engineering, Physics, Mathematics) and the desire to to pursue innovative research in the following areas of Power and Energy Systems: * Cascading outages in power grids * Complex systems and complex networks * Chaos and nonlinear dynamics * Big data and high performance computing For more information about the research group please check: http://eecs.oregonstate.edu/node/270 And/or contact the major advisor for this position, Dr. Eduardo Cotilla-Sanchez at cotillaj@eecs.oregonstate.edu OSU is located in Corvallis, a community of 53,000 people situated in the Willamette Valley between Portland and Eugene.
