[求助]LSAT-8-4-8 做了两遍都没选出C

文章意思不难,但实在不理解为什么选C.

8. In Malsenia sales of classical records are soaring. The buyers responsible for this boom are quite new to classical music and were drawn to it either by classical scores from television commercials or by theme tunes introducing major sports events on television. Audiences at classical concerts, however, are continually shrinking in Malsenia. It can be concluded from this that the new Malsenian converts to classical music, having initially experienced this music as recorded music, are most comfortable with classical music as recorded music and really have no desire to hear live performances.

The argument assumes which one of the following?

(A) To sell well in Malsenia, a classical record must include at least one piece familiar from television.

(B) At least some of the new Malsenian buyers of classical records have available to them the opinion of attending classical concerts.

(C) The number of classical concerts performed in Malsenia has not decreased in response to smaller audiences.

(D) The classical records available in Malsenia are, for the most part, not recordings of actual public concerts.

(E) Classical concerts in Malsenia are not limited to music that is readily available on recordings.

Audiences at classical concerts是指每场音乐会的观众人数。C排除一个他因。如果每天都有音乐会,有可能场场爆满吗。

以下是引用lawyer_1在2004-10-19 23:51:00的发言:

Audiences at classical concerts是指每场音乐会的观众人数。

如果这样翻译,选项C是对的。但Audiences at classical concerts, 明明指总人数呀。

still puzzled....

If C is not true, that is,  the number of classical concerts decreased, then it is reasonable that Audiences at classical concerts decrease. So C should be assumed to rule out other reasons cause that Audiences at classical concerts decrease.

(B) At least some of the new Malsenian buyers of classical records have available to them the option of attending classical concerts.

why not B?

如果new Malsenian buyers of classical records没有机会去听现场,那结论也不能成立啊。

C有些牵强吧。还是B好些。

作为C,如果是场场爆满,smaller audiences又是什么。

Hey guys, why do you think the correct choice is C? I have just checked the "10 Actual, Official LSAT PrepTests" by LSAC. This problem appears in December, 1992 test. The correct choice is clearly B, not C.

Woo...I can't find this question in the December 92 test, but I think (C) is a possible answer based on the following:

*premise

1. sale of records soaring

2. buyers of this boom- drawan to classical music from "recorded" ones (TV commercials or sport events)

3. audience of concerts shrinking

*conclusion

1. "boomers" are more comfortable with records

2. they don't have a desire to go live performance

**assumption**

Those boomers must have the same opportunity to go concerts as the old generation did in order to reach that conclusion. If the number of concerts has decreased, it would be difficult to reach that conclusion, just like leeon mentioned above.
