请教关于推荐信的问题

我想请教推荐人在PHD申请过程中的作用。请各位简单的评估一下好吗？


我现在在联系一个我在台湾交流时的一个教授，他是GWU的硕士，乔治城的博士。我自己特别想去GWU，所以这个老师的推荐信能给我加多少分数呢？

不会加多少分数的，一年毕业那么多硕士，当时都可能没人认识你说的这个老师，更不用说现在了。

不会加多少分数的，一年毕业那么多硕士，当时都可能没人认识你说的这个老师，更不用说现在了。

it seems that i know your b/g a little bit. Frankly speaking, GWU itself is extremely competitive, even for people who did undergrad and master in the US. As far as I know, GWU does not seem to have good impression on mainland Chinese student. Besides, it prefers student with expecially strong math and programming skills, like students who have engineering/math/physics background, since GWU's main focus is on assets pricing and derivative. Hence, bettwe try sth. esle; it is not worthwhile wasting time on this one.

well, although I am doing master's at GWU, probably you know better than I do?????? I just want to advise LZ to save money/time/energey to apply some other schools which are possible for her/his b/g.

Of course LZ could send email to inquire, but I am SURE they will suggest how extremely competitive their Phd in finance program is.

Anyway, every one has his/her own right to have a try on anything. However, for myself, I will never try anyting that is not possible at all, since it is really stupid--just my own thoughts, could be wrong

好吧，一直走積極心理學的路線。只是希望LZ不要因為外圍信息而忽略了核心信息

I know PhD in finance is really competitive,but how do you know even without a try? Of course, I will make myself much morequalified for the program.
