题目中的：Of all the vast tides of migration that have swept through history，是用来做 perhaps none 同位语么，不是很理解，我觉得该题目Of all the vast tides of migration that have swept through history 也是作为主语，那么题目就有2个主语了。
在manhandan 中文笔记中看到以下内容：
1) 内容具体化同位结构：抽象名词（theory/evidence/belief/principle）+that 从句，that从句对抽象名词进行具体化解释（注意与of 结构的区别），that从句部分才是同位语。(that是小品词，连词，和一般的名词性that分句中的that一样)
注意与of 结构的区别）什么意思，能举例说明么，谢谢

首先，句首的of结构不是同位语，而是一个opening modifier，是来修饰后面主句的主语的；

其次，我也不是很明白你说的manhattan中文笔记中的那句话是什么意思（那就话好像pp笔记中也有），但是我知道在修饰抽象名词时，更倾向于用that引导的同位语从句，相比之下，一个从句更能解释说明抽象名词的内容，而用of的介宾结构做后置定语时，of后面只能跟名词性质的东西，能够解释的程度肯定不如从句好；看下面这个句子：
27.    aleontologists believe that fragments of a primate jawbone unearthed in Burma and estimated to be 40 to 44 million years old provide evidence of a crucial step along the evolutionary path that led to human beings.
这里用of是因为evidence是一个名词的证据，所以of介词结构足以表达，但是，比如说，你想说的是一个复杂现象的证据，可能of结构就不能说明白了，即使用了of，可能造成结构的awkward和confusing。

最后，想说明两点：a that和of的区别是相对性的错误，不能以此直接排除一个选项 b 使用of是很容易出现awkward
