The arguer claims that the discipline ofhistory has its biggest merit in dismissing the illusion that we are differentform people in the past. I, personally, agree insofar that through historylearning we can surely discover the similarity between historic figures and us.However, the most distinguish reward from the research is acquiring wisdom ofthe ancestors so that we can no long make the same mistake.

To begin with, the historians delve deeplyinto events in the past and conclude that we do not have very significant evolutionaryvariations with people in the history books. E.g. people who lived thousands yearsago are far more imaginable than they used to be thought. Socrates for example,is an admirable philosopher for his contribution to the western intellectual historywith his students Plato and Aristotle. However, historians have reached ainteresting conclusion that the well-known philosopher is also a man afraid ofhis wife. This seems absurd but real fact in some degree directly presents uswith a image of Socrates as a henpecked husbands at the Golden Age, and providesus with an even more amicable perspective of his works as well.

However, the discovery of similaritybetween ancestor and us is not as precious as the arguer claims. The socialissues people are faced at present are far more intricate and sophisticatedthan those of centuries ago. So modern people are surely capable of uniquecharacters in surviving the fierce competition is large cities. Thus, ratherthan the similarities, successful experience of the early sages can beselectively adopted by people in the modern society if necessary. Mencius'theory of politics is proved of great value for the ruling class in the modern age.Mencius advocated that people's right definitely outweighs the personalinterests of their leaders. During the democratic process in China
, government who used to haveprivilege is nowadays pursuing a way of equality with its people, the measuresof cancel unnecessary consumption and reduce the number of official vehicles forinstance. These endeavors are on the road to the ultimate goal of Mencius’democratic idea thousands of years ago.  
Moreover, studying history will obviouslybrings about other possible merits apart from experience in details. Asstudents in college, the extensive reading of history books, either Chinese orwestern, is definitely benefit for the cultivating of critical think, abilityto reasoning, and building the framework of value and an outlook on world aswell. The free atmosphere of art in Golden Age influences the overall westernculture of great literature works like Homer's Epic. Stories of gods and anglesin that book can be instructive fro oriental people from a totally differentbackground in understanding the western people’s faith in religion.

In retrospect, it seems precipitous foranyone to limit the influence of history by only providing a more familiar viewon ancestors. There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes. Thehistory, as a autonomy discipline, influences its seekers with various meritsand it is because this reason that so many people are obsessed with historystudying.

关于这个题目，我的想法如下：
１．学习历史的确能了解到现在和过去有很多的相同，这体现在人们对衣食住行的需求和真善美的不懈追求等基本面。
２．但更多的是不同，现在相比于过去人们面临的问题大大的不一样。过去没有环境问题，没有科技伦理道德的问题，举例说明。。。
３．学习历史的首要任务更在于从历史中吸取前人的智慧、教训和经验，为今天所用。比如关于可持续发展，中国古人早就有相关的思想。
写思路的时候最好有一个清晰的脉络，不要想到什么就写什么，而且最好具体些，在提纲中就能想到举出具体的例子。

Write a response in which you discuss what questions would need to be answered in order to decide whether the recommendation and the argument on which it is based are reasonable. Be sure to explain how the answers to these questions would help to evaluate the recommendation.
