关于online提交推荐信

我看到有的学校要求online提交推荐信，不知道具体是怎么操作的？因为要进入online申请的程序才可以看到，所以现在没有查到，想问问有经验的朋友。

1、我用什么方式把表格发给对方，对方又是怎么反馈回来的呢？

2、有的学校对推荐信是有表格要填的，而且表格的是PDF文件，如果提给推荐人，一般好象都没有软件能编辑PDF文件，他怎么能填那些表呢？至少那些框框里要打勾才行啊。

3、大家觉得这种办法是不是很麻烦？如果可以在online提交和邮寄之间做选择，大家觉得那种方式对推荐人更方便一些？

If your recommender has easy access to emails then better to use online.

Schools will ask you to provide the email address of the recommender and email a link to him/her directly. The linked webpage usually is exactly the same as what appears in the PDF recom form file. Your recommender could write/save/edit/submit the evaluation directly online. PDF file is only for those who want to do paper recommendation. The only one school I know so far that offer editable PDF file is INSEAD. Check it out if you are interested in that technical part of PDF file.

那得推荐人自己上网去填那些表，估计挺麻烦的，他们没有耐心做，还是我做好了让他们去签字吧。

不过还有点好奇：学校怎么能知道这个email地址是谁的呢？又没有签名什么的可以做保证。

If your recommender is too busy to fill out the form online, you could ask him/her to send you the login account name and password to you so that you can log into the recom page, fill out everything and then inform your recommender to review and submit, or simply submit by yourself as long as your recommender is fine with what you write.

B school has there way to verify the background of you and your recommender. In addition, do you believe a written signature is more reliable than an internet email account? not really ba...

我看了一下online申请，我可以通过online系统给推荐人发一个链接，让他进到这个系统中来填写推荐信。你的意思是不是说，系统会给他一个PIN number和密码？还是说他自己建一个密码？然后如果他把这个PIN和密码给我，我也可以进去填写，然后保存下来。最后由他进去看看，确认无误之后，只要按一下提交键就可以了，是这样吗？

你说得对，实际上签名也可以随便找谁代签，也不比email address更可靠。：）

yes, that is the case. schools will send your recommender a login account and password, which can be shared between you and your recommender. so go ahead with the online one, it's a quick and convenient way to complete the letter.

But if we log in to the recommender website, our ip and computer name will be recorded. Therefore, the B-school will know it is we, not recommenders, who write the recommendation.

So, it's better to ask recommender to log in to the recommender website.

Do you really believe that the adcom officers have the time or mood to track the ip of each online recommendation letter? Guess those big fat essays and recom letters have already made their days, don't think they will do what FBI would do, unless the recom letter is way too suspicious

要求在线提交推荐信的学校，一般也会允许用paper的方式吧
