这一题答案选C。但是我不明白的是，这个句子结构本身a phenomenon应该是global warming的同位语修饰，如果选C，句子结构是a phenomenon( that most scientists agree) is caused by human beings' burning of fossil fuels, 是一个完整的句子，不需要前后链接词么？
如果是做插入语，如何去判断什么时候可以插入一个完整的句子呢？

在1193—1395页赫然发现一个语法词条——嵌入式关系分句，详解如下：

“有一种关系分句（即定语从句），它既是先行项的后置修饰语（即定语），同时又是另外一个分句结构的宾语（即宾语从句）”此分句结构就被嵌入在定语从句中，即嵌入式关系分句。

该书举例：In his breast-pocket he had a patch of scarlet, which i suppose was the paper cap serving as a handkerchief.

注意两点：1）从句which was the paper cap serving as a handkerchief 首先是 patch of scarlet的定语从句。

              2）从句which（patch of scarlet） was the paper cap serving as a handkerchief 也是i suppose 的宾语从句，即I suppose （that）the patch of scarlet was the paper cap serving as a handkerchief 。

综上所述，但一个定语从句同时是另一个主谓结构的宾语从句是，就可以写为嵌入式关系分句。

意思是 global warming 是由  human being 导致的。意思不正确。in burning fossil fuel 会产生修饰歧义，修饰human being, 意思变成了在 燃烧化石燃料中的人~In A, in burning fossil fuels seems to modify human beings, implying that these human beings are coming to a most unfortunate end. Eliminate A.

DE不讨论了，AB各有各的问题。A，还原以后是 most scientists agree a phenomenon to be caused ...，这是破句。
B，还原以后是 most scientists agree a phenomenon that is caused ... 这不如agree + that来的好，wordy。
只有C还原以后是 most scientists agree that a phenomenon is caused ...
当然楼上也有说可以把most scientists agree看成插入语，如果LZ掌握了这个知识点，那解题更快了。

关于后半句的解释，楼主要先考察语义。这个现象是来自于人类对石油的燃烧，简而言之是来自于燃烧。A选项，把这个对象偷换成了人类，B选项偷换成了石油。并不是人类或者石油导致了这个现象，是燃烧导致了这个现象。人类和石油都是对燃烧进行修饰的，它们自己并不是中心词。
