I still did not decide specific which field I am going to apply. But I may apply Ph.D.

A couple comments:

- If you are in North America, then you AWA essays are scored together with other native speakers', and there is a high chance to get low AWA scores.  If you are taking the GMAT in China, then you have better chance of score higher.

- Request regarding -- it's very unlikely you will get a score lower than 3.5

- Do not retake GMAT.  780 is certainly a respectable score, and you may not be able to get that high a score if you retake G.

- Focus on writing application essays (if you decide to apply).  Good essays go a long way to assuage AdCom's concern of low AWA.

Yes.  High TWE score certainly can somewhat compensate low AWA score.

1 有人说awa并不重要。

2 我申请的时候很多学校根本不要求填awa成绩（当然他们能从official report上看到）。
