请教两题,哪为大牛帮忙!

A/C有什么区别?


As U.S. nuclear attack submarines prowl their familiar haunts deep within the oceans of the world these days, they increasingly are engaged in missions far different from the tasks for which they were built and for which their crews were trained over the last forty years.

偶不是N,不过正好看到过这两题

第一题,固定搭配,forbid...to do...,如果用from,应该用prohibit...from...

第二题,固定搭配,different from,不应该是different than.

另外第二题的D意思也混乱了点,A的be engaged in是固定短语,作为一个动词,而D中engage和后面的are都是动词,而且没有连接词,是不对的。希望NN指正。

另外一点是,A中increasingly修饰engage,D中increasingly 修饰different, 改变了原句的意思。


总之,A是最好的答案。

the missions (that) they engage in are increasingly different than the tasks for which they were built...


我认为这个动词之间没有冲突,因为当that引导定语从句的时,而且充当分句的宾语的话,是可以省略的。

从这个角度来看的话,A选项对我们做题还是有很大的指导作用的,^_^

我在金山糍粑上面同时也查到了be different than也是一种表达方法啊。


the same mean as "be different from"

我认为选项A和选项D的区别就是句子主语不同,选项A是they,指U.S. nuclear attack submarines,选项D主语是the missions they engage in。从后面and引导的部分and for which their crews were trained over the last forty years.来看,主语是their crews,这里的their明显是指代U.S. nuclear attack submarines,因此划线部分的句子主语应该是U.S. nuclear attack submarines,所以用they比较符合整体逻辑关系。

2 题答案应是C ,     A的明显错误是 they increasingly are engaged in , 英语里从没有这样的表达方式,  the correct form is " they are increasingly engaged "

nothing grammatically wrong with " noun that ...and for which ...
