One Graduate Assistant Position is immediately availabe in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Akron. We are now looking for one highly motivated PhD student dedicated to the cutting edge research in heterogeneous catalysis and alternative energy. The lab focuses on study and development of advanced materials useful as heterogeneous catalysts for important energy-related processes, including fuel cell reactions, bio-oil upgrading, and syngas production. The candidate will be trained based on his/her own research interests and multidisciplinarily in chemical engineering, materials chemistry, and catalytic science.
Located in Akron, Ohio, the University of Akron has a strong PhD program in Chemical Engineering. The candidate will be given a full fellowships support during the graduate study. Please see more details at http://www.uakron.edu/engineering/CBE/home/.
Starting date: August 2012 or January 2013
Basic requirements: Master or Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physical Chemistry, or Inorganic Chemistry Good GRE and TOEFL scores Strong interests in heterogeneous catalysis Priority will be given to candidates familar with GC/MS and/or having demonstrated research experience.
