I've got two offers among big four and am working in the city. If you want to provide any useful insights I'm more than happy to learn that. Obviously my opinions are only based on my experience and subject to bias. But it's way better than sitting there and laughing at others without good reasons.

You are just so right about everything! That is why most people suggest me to stay in the States. A one-year or one-half-year program in London (and without PSW) probably won't provide me with enough time for job hunting. And if I fail to find a job at the end of the program, I'll have to go back to China. However, the US program lasts two years and I also get an OPT for one year after that. It is obvious that the US program is definitely a better choice (hopefully), although I prefer living in London instead.

Yes the timeline is quite tough, but it's not that bad. You have to admit the undergraduates have an advantage in job hunting compared to postgraduates. So you've got to work more than them.

I never know that! Someone told me that UK employers are mad about fancy undergraduate degrees with high GPA. The big 4 seem much fairer to all students. However, those tests sound terrible. Is it that only UK big 4 do that? Or all big 4 firms around the world are so strict about making mistakes?

I really don't think so. I think US HRs, esp those in investment banks and buy-side are more picky about the schools and internships than their UK colleagues. In the UK every application goes through online system, so they will look at your whole package. It's not like in the US they can collect your application through career service, therefore target schools have a huge advantage.
About the tests, you just need more practice. It's not difficult at all, just very very annoying.  Some one finds it all right. But I really hate those situational judgements/psychological tests which are so dame long. Also in the interview, they will ask many questions regarding your experience, competences, and motivation. Sometimes patience can make a difference for you. To me investment banking/ buy-side interviews are much more interesting. Don't know about the big four in other regions, sorry about that

I would first like to say thank you very much for all your helpful information!
Yes the career fair definitely plays an important part in US job hunting. And based on what you said, I kinda feel that US employers are more pro-networking than UK companies. That is also why I chose to go to Lehigh at last as that school does have some connections with Big 4 and they come to campus regularly to recruit. Also, the 2 year program might provide me with internship opportunities in summer, which I believe could be very helpful for getting me a full-time position later. As you said, the timeline in UK will be tough, and what is worse, UK companies would prefer undergrads instead of me. This is gonna put me into a very disadvantaged situation, especially since I have no internship experience here in the States that could help to build up my resume. Although I fancy London a lot, it seems better for me to give it up and stay here. Sigh.

Btw, if you don't consider this to be a rude question, are you an undergrad or grad student? Did u get ur undergrad in UK?

I did my undergrad in China and then finished a masters in the UK last year. It's indeed tough to find a job with one-year program, but still many people who are really committed achieved that.

Oh you are making me wanna give it a try, although others told me not to...I bet you must have graduated from a top Chinese university. Did you have any work/internship experience before you went to UK?

。Hope I made the right choice, but who knows..Maybe it turns out that the US school is a bad choice...And then I will die with regrets...oh no...
God bless England~
