选B是没有异议的。

1.they 指代Bulda image, which从句作定语修饰寺庙；清晰，没有问题。

2.B的结构：..energy is expended on ****,and on #### 平行结构，清晰合理。

D的结构：**** account for ...energy,and also #####. 显然后面应该是#### do.或者 so do ####。

3。D的错误还有：enshrine的用法。Enshrine sth in .../Be enshrined in..., 故 ..on the decoration of the temples enshrining them 是不对的。显然，temple不能做enshrine的主语，而应该是in the temple。

 觉得自己写得很清楚，自己赞一个。

这道题我没有仔细看they的指代，而是通过名词形式+平行结构做的。

首先，在用名词的地方，如果是动词形式的名词像 creation construction  decoration,用动词+tion可以得到的，句中需要名词是不能用动词+ing的形式，所以排除C E；

再者，D的后半句结构完全是乱的；

最后比较A B，A也犯了D的结构混乱的错误，再一看B结构多美好啊！

PS：楼主提到的指代问题确定很讨厌，但是我们做题时只要能保证我们选出的选项是最好的，而不是完美的就行了，不是吗？

之前有看過說AofB，解釋為B's A那指代不能指代B只能指代A，而上面的much of the local artisans’ creative energy 與the creation of Buddha images 皆是B's A中的B，所以不是不能指代嗎？所以選項中的THEY指代還是搞不清楚？

正好翻出老帖子， 对于楼上有人问的这个问题，我也的确没有搞清楚。

希望能有高手再回答下

如果B是plural:
- they不能指代B's A中的B, OG巳說過...
- 可是they可以指代A of B中的B (雖然不是很好的指代對象, 可是是可以的)
