OG147. Samuel Sewall viewed marriage, as other seventeenth-century colonists, like a property arrangement rather than an emotional bond based on romantic love.

 (E) Samuel Sewall, like other seventeenth-century
colonists, viewed marriage as a property
    arrangement rather than

801 The pattern of whisker spot on the face of a male lion, like human fingerprints, are a lifelong means of identification, since they are both unique and unchanging.

(A) like human fingerprints, are a lifelong means of identification, since they are both unique and unchanging

(B) like human fingerprints, is a lifelong means of identification, since it is both unique and unchanging

(C) like human fingerprints, is a means of identification for life, being both unique and unchanging

(D) since they are both unique and unchanging, are, like human fingerprints, are a means of identification for lifeB

(E) both unique and unchanging, are, like human fingerprints, a lifelong means of identification

OG126. More than thirty years ago Dr. Barbara McClintock, the Nobel Prize winner, reported that genes can "jump," as pearls moving mysteriously from one necklace to another.

(A) as pearls moving mysteriously from one necklace to another

(B) like pearls moving mysteriously from one necklace to another

(C) as pearls do that move mysteriously from one necklace to others

(D) like pearls do that move mysteriously from one necklace to others (B)

(E) as do pearls that move mysteriously from one necklace to some other one

OG189. Proponents of artificial intelligence say they will be able to make computers that can understand English and other human languages, recognize objects, and reason as an expert does - computers that will be used to diagnose equipment breakdowns, deciding whether to authorize a loan, or other purposes such as these.

(A)as an expert does--computers that will be used to diagnose equipment breakdowns, deciding whether to authorize a loan, or other purposes such as these

(B) as an expert does, which may be used for purposes such as diagnosing equipment breakdowns or deciding whether to authorize a loan

(C) like an expert--computers that will be used for such purposes as diagnosing equipment breakdowns or deciding whether to authorize a loan

(D) like an expert, the use of which would be for
purposes like the diagnosis of equipment breakdowns or the decision whether or not a loan should be authorized

(E) like an expert, to be used to diagnose
equipment breakdowns, deciding whether to authorize a loan or not, or the like

Deliberately imitating the technique of Louis Armstrong, jazz singer Billie Holiday’s

approach to singing was to use her voice like an instrument, in that she ranged

freely over the beat, flattened out the melodic contours of tunes, and, in effect,

recomposed songs to suit her range, style, and artistic sensibilities.D

A.    Billie Holiday’s approach to singing was to use her voice like an instrument,

in that she ranged freely over the beat, flattened.

B.     Billie Holiday’s approach to singing was to use her voice in a similar way

to how other musicians play instruments, in ranging freely over the beat,

flattening.

C.     Billie Holiday approached singing by using her voice like other musicians

played instruments, ranging freely over the beat, flattening.

D.    Billie Holiday used her voice in the same way that other musicians use their

instruments, in that she ranged freely over the beat, flattening.

E.     Billie Holiday approached singing by using her voice like other musicians

Instruments, ranging freely over the beat, flattening.

thank you very much!!

unlike transplants between identical twins, whose genetic endowment is the same, all patient receiving hearts or other organs must take antirejection drugs for the rest of their lives.

a.同上

b,besides transplants involving identical twins with the same genetic endowment.

c, Unless the transplants involves identical twins ,who have the same genetic endowment.

d, Aside from a transplant between identical twins with the same genetic endowment.

e,Other than transplants between identical twins, whose genetic endowment is the same

He works like a dog
