while有表示同时的意思，译为：当...时候
比如： While Mom made dinner in the kitchen, I watched the cartoon in the living room.
           While in prison, he wrote his first novel.

楼主可以上网搜一下while的用法，完善对这个词的理解。

谢谢，我知道while有同时的意思哦，可是不也有“然而”的意思么。可能是我问题木有问清楚吧。我想说，难道while表示“然而”的意思时，也有“同时”的意思？我个人感觉是表示“然而”的意思时，while只是一个单纯的转折，不含有“同时”的意味。但是OG的explanation让我相当confused啊~~T_T

manhattan语法中，是这样认为的，while一般不在gmat表示转折，我个人认为while放句首表示两者进行对比，转折的语气是比较弱的，不像although，although就是正宗的转折意思。
