More often, the immature adolescents need guiding and directions from adults to reshape their misbehaviors and misunderstanding.
As a part of our gigantic and complicated society, the next generation always arouses the sense of hope and infinite possibility. But news about dazzling success of young man would not impress us for their ages, if the contemporary world and culture were not dominated by adults. In fact, much more adults took important positions and influence the culture than youth did. Politicians, economists and scientists appeared on media site are usually experienced experts, and it is their status and success that ignited the ambition of youth. They expressed their opinions through televisions and internet to affect people and culture as their wills, instead of youth. Even though some ambitious youth organization like Invisible Children tried to get more clout through the Kony case, they still have to struggle against the gerontocracy. For this reason, to analysis the modern culture, adult world would be a better sample than youth.
Compared with mature adults, adolescents, lacking of power, wealth, reputation and experiences, always would behavior imprudently to bluffing or showing off their influence and importance. Indeed, such an exaggerated action usually drew the attentions of public and media, and it made the illusion that the cultural process relied on our offspring. However, as a group of uncertain people, youth can hardly generate independent and long-term culture. Easily misled by internet and rumors, they usually become the unrest social force and participated into violate riots, especially when social issue like unemployment or patriotism became harder to reconcile. Youth, as a group, do not interested in creating culture, even though some of them actually achieved great success and influence culture very well. We have to admit youth is a part of our culture, but to reflect a culture by chaotic young men and women would always exhibit the flippancy and uncertainty.
Properties of a culture should be more complex than characteristics concluded from a special group. Youth was separated from adult and children, for their age and immature property. The culture, which should present the entire society, cannot be summarized comprehensively by the analysis of its youth. Spectators should surveyed people from different ages, genders, vocations, incomes and other important factors to get more cogent conclusion. Even though youth's behaviors are enlarged by modern communicational technology, culture still would not be dominated by a certain group of society. To evaluate the contemporary culture, adults are essential and unavailable sample.
As the conclusion, to analysis trends of youth is an essential part of the process to evaluate the culture. While it is also crucial to consider the influence of adult, since they are more mature and impacted the culture more effectively.
