OG说D选项没有语法错误, 但是不是很清楚, 可能就是指那个that of吧, 这里that应该指代spending, 但是后面有了in personal spending for ..., 显得重复吧, 我是这样理解的

有道理，D没有语法错误，就是表达不清楚。

我认为D选项改变了句意。expectations that是定语从句，that后面的内容是解释expectations；而D选项是expectations of，这是从属关系，已经改变了句意。虽然语法没有错，但是句意改变，也不是GMAC的本意。

expectations that后面是同位语从句，像是idear expectations thought这类具有抽象意义的词经常需要同位语从句进行修饰说明其指代的具体含义，整个第二个句子就是前面人说的非谓语结构作伴随状语。
