顶起一个老帖，疑问：

这段话的含义是不是说：
，+doing在句尾的时候如果既可以做定于修饰名词又可以做伴随或者结果状语就不会有歧义。

二、这段话和这道题的acting是什么关系呢，我可不可以理解acting and protecting 是伴随状语，所以不能选呢？

我觉得absorbing应该修饰a breakwater of rocks，as buffer这个修饰完全可以在解题时去掉，这句话其实用absorbing与后面的protecting平行解出更好。
