Doeducational institutions have a responsibility to dissuade students frompursuing fields of study in which they are unlikely to succeed? I concede thateducational institutions should give some advices about choosing study field. In my opinion, however, I disagree with the statement that educationalinstitutions should dissuade students from pursuing fields in which they havelittle possibility to success. Ofcourse, as the institutions in which the students prepare themselves for theirfuture lives, educational institutions should give some directions aboutchoosing study field to the students because it is not only good for thestudents themselves, but also benefit for the society. As to the students, theyhave no experience in choosing study field and are too young to make wisechoice. Therefore they need the help of directors who have a wealth experiencein this regard. As to the society, it needs the students to go less wrong waysso they can contribute to society as soon as possible. Therefore, a good advicefrom educational institutions is good for both the students themselves and thesociety.
However, it is really unsuitable for educational institutions to preventstudents from pursuing fields of study in which they maybe be failed. First ofall, it is really hard for the directors to make sure whether the students willsuccess in some fields due to the complexity of human. If someone does not dohis/her best to work, how can we know whether the people will be successful ornot? After all, the directors are not god and cannot see the future. Secondly, some student maybe does not want to be so "successful" in theircareer. Admittedly, if someone wants to be successful, he/she must make moreefforts which maybe just what the students cannot bear. Or some people tend topay more attention to enjoy their lives and they would like to spend more timewith their family, hence their want a job with more leisure. In thosecircumstances, it is obviously unsuitable to prevent the student from pursuingstudy field.
What is more, students maybe not as successful as predicted if they change their field. As weknown, individual interest is the best teacher for us. If we work in a fieldwhich we are interested in, we will be more motivated and hence more likely tobe successful. Therefore, if the currently study field is what the student isinterested in, while those fields which may lead to a good future are thestudent dislike or even hate, the students maybe be even less successful. Fromwhat have be discussed above, it is safe to conclusion that it is wrong foreducational institutions to dissuade students from pursuing fields of study inwhich they are unlikely to succeed. 写起来完全没有感觉啊!向各位大神求助了 |
