这道题为什么不选D捏？白勇给的解释没有看懂。求大神们解释一下，为什么E是对的，而D不对？

D有2个错误撒：1) D 没有表达清楚50,000-100,000具体修饰的是全部的genes in a cell (一个cell就只有50,000-100,000个genes，是整体）还是cell里的一部分genes(fraction)，有歧义。而E的表达更清楚，用the来特指这50k到100k的genes。
2) merely是副词，3 percent是名词，名词只能用形容词修饰，所以E的mere是对的，D的merely不对。
