MAcc------UMich V.S. USC, 到底应该去哪个? 想听听大家意见!

觉得U MICH 不论商学院还是名气都要比USC好哈！

就我看来不考虑找工作的因素的话两校其实差不多啊，acct的排名和课程都差不多，而且会计主要还是考证吧。如果短期工作已经找好，几年以后更看重的还we而不是master了吧。
我觉得usc可能会生活上的感受比较好啊，而且还有奖学金。。。

As you already have a job, I suggest you go to USC. UM has high ranking just because it has high placement. UM is popular in midwest and most companies from midwest go there for recruiting. Their accouting faculty team are not that strong. USC has several most influential professors in accouting industry and keep in touch with them is definitely a advantage in long term career development. USC is the only school with MACC program in westcoast. Stanford, UCB, UCLA, CIT are competitive but do not have accounting program.

BTW, I graduated from ND and currently waiting for admission of an accounting PhD from USC.

Oh, great, it seems that u r pretty familiar with these two programs or at least you have some of ur own ideas, so can you be more specific? Honestly, I am not too picky about the accounting program coz in the long run I may not work in this profession. However, I am more concorned about which school will be more beneficial for long term career development in the biz world. Thanks~~

BTW, there are tons of people from ND working here at EY chicago, overwelmed by them, LOL~~

I'm not too familiar with those two PROGRAMs but I do know the accounting department in USC is much stronger. California creates 1/7 of US GDP and USC's accouting department provides wide education for industries in California, both acc firms and non-acc firms. For example, Professor Merchant serves a the chair of accounty at DTT while he is in school. If you want to switch to industries, USC is definitely a better choice.
However, if you want to switch to small acc firms for a senior management position, you might consider east coast.
