V1 People should be paid by their profession beneficial to the society。
V2 people should be paid according to how much his/her profession benefits the society.

The issue of whether people should be paid by their profession beneficial to the society is a complex and a controversial one. Different people hold different views due to their respective angles. On the one hand, some people advocate that people should be paid according to his or her profession benefits to the society. On the other hand, others probably insist that people should be paid not only according to their profession benefits to the society, but also according to many other aspects such as their cooperate abilities. We do not have to see the valid standpoint of this matter. In the following analysis, I would like to reason and provide evidence favoring the latter one and refuting the former one.

Admittedly, professional skills are very important factor in determining employees’ salaries. Professional knowledge is the foundation of an employee’s capability for work. For example, if a college school teacher knows little things about the profession he teaches, he can’t perform well in his teaching, so that he can’t do many profession benefits to the society. Under this circumstance, it is very likely that the leader of the college don’t give him high salary. Another case is that if an accountant has little professional knowledge, he can’t handle the accounts of his company and therefore do few professional benefits to the society. The wage of the accountant should be also low. In fact, the wage of an employee indeed has close relation to his professional knowledge. We can see that the salary of a high technology worker is higher than an ordinary worker, and a professor of a university has a higher wage than a primary school teacher has. Under these circumstances, employers should take employees’ into consideration when they define salary policy.

Nevertheless, that is not to say that employees’ profession beneficial to the society is the only factor in determining employees’ salaries. Other important aspects such as people’s innovation capability, communication skills and corporate ability should be taken into consideration when employers define salary policy. Sometimes, these abilities are more important to some jobs than professional skills, and it is likely that people use these capabilities to do more contribution to their company and the society. For instance, still the teacher cited in the second paragraph, although he isn’t very professional, he always teach his students how to behave themselves and tell them many valuable experiences in society. In this way, he does much to the society. Therefore, he shouldn’t be paid a low salary.

To sum up, I advocate that people should be paid not only according to their profession benefits to the society, but also according to many other aspects. Because Professional knowledge is the foundation of an employee’s capability for work, and other capabilities such as innovation capability, communication skills and corporate ability are more important to some jobs than professional skills sometimes. Due to the above-mentioned reasons, which sometimes intertwine to form an organic whole and thus become more persuasive, we may safely arrive at the conclusion I support.
