Is it advisable for a teenage student to have a part-time job?
I think whether a student is supposed to take a part-time job depends on whether he or she has ability to deal with his or her own issues and what kind of job he or she chooses. It is undoubtedly accepted that high school students should focus on their academic achievements and spend most of their energy on curricula. For those average students who can barely finish the assignments deployed by their teachers, a part-time job should not even be mentioned. Nevertheless, elite students who can get straight-A results and still have a lot of free time to kill would be reasonable to take a part-time job. Students can benefit from a part-time job. The wages of a part-time job may not justify the time they put in it, but the pleasure of spending one’s own money can definitely afford a sense of achievement. The experience of a part-time job can also offer students the advantage to graduates when everybody has to find a real job and earn bread and butter from it. Part-time jobs such as assistant in a lab may even create an opportunity for students to combine their knowledge with the application in the real world. Still, not all kinds of part-time job suits teenage students. Those involve extensive physical labor may cause physical damage to the adolescents. Jobs that have to be performed in some not-so-healthy ambience, such as a bar or a night club, should also close their doors to young students. Because this kind of part-time job may cause bad influence on the teenagers and contribute to the drop-out rate. In conclusion, teenage students are should bear in mind that academic achievement is really important and is the prerequisite for a part-time job. But if students have the extra energy to take a well-chosen part-time job, they get a chance to fulfill their life. 呵呵,如果有人有时间看看改改,不胜感谢。 |
