解释discrepancy题，答案是：The decrease in students attending private colleges over the last seven years has been more than offset by the increases in tuition.

如果tuition增加带来的收入比入学人数减少所降低的收入要多，那么矛盾就解决了。这个很好想，主要是觉得答案选项有点绕。体会不出来到底什么意思。the decrease in students....more than offset .... ?

to pocahontas, could you please show the source of the question,  such as which set of LSAT.

答案的意思为：学生的减少已经被学费的增加抵消，而且还要多。其实说顺点就是你说的意思。关键你对OFFSET这词的理解没建立起来。

Really easy.

Numbers of the students to attend the private college across the country has been decreasing due to the increasing college tuition. However, the revenue has been growing progressively and it is predicted to be further increasing in the years to come.

Apparently, the financial gains of the increased tuition is higher than the financial loss of the decreased student attendance.
