选项1, in that 在这里不合适, 应改为because or for, 而且festival 可以是形容词, 所以festival's month 不对.

选项2, festival's month 错

选项3, they 指代模糊, 分不清是指olympic games还是pugnacious states

选项5, 好象是olympic games proclaim a sacred truce, 而且罗嗦.

所以正确答案因为D, 这样分析对吗?

被动语态没有动作发出者不太好吧，who proclaimed?

不过我也觉得C里面的when不顺眼，应该用because or for.

if the answer is C,  how to explain the use of "when"?

D没有说明who claimed始终是个错误。

when的确不好，不过我还是会选C.

这题的关键是时间状语festival month到底修饰truce 还是proclaim。

when就是“当......时候”。
