No, M&A has no risk analyst. Banks run risk management in areas where $$$ outlay takes place, such as trading, financing, asset management....M&A is a pure advisory business in banks.
Investment strategy? If you mean cross-asset class investment, then asset allocation /modern portfolio theories are what you need to know; if you are talking about equity investment strategy, then yes, equity research is a good starting point

I dont know how gweilo think about these two programs in London; for outside of Europe, people don't know any diff between programs, they treat you as graduate student as HEC....btw, if you are looking to get a job in HK/China, your undergrad degree matters A LOT. At the time when getting into ivy schools (aka columbia) is easy, hiring managers care less about graduate schools
