1、第一题是Mohenjo-Daro excavation in Pakistan兴盛繁荣，所以不能用flourishing（modify the subject），否则就变成Salt deposits and moisture兴盛繁荣了。。。
2、第二题考平行结构，rather than要求前后谓语形式一致，那么前面是have，后面必须是face; instead of的话不管前面是什么，后面一定是v+ing，所以E。而GMAT里因为考虑到平行结构优先，所以一般出现rather than和instead of的话，通常优选rather than
