这篇SC很有意思，不过对我们这些非米国人来说，考这个就好象考美国人中国的庙是怎么建的一样，很没意思。

支持﹙E﹚，这里的with表一个物体带有的特性，而非each所引导的独立主格是表示” 强调句尾名词”。
试问倒底是dwellings有roof，还是dwellings是roof呢?
又由修饰来看，是roof被support，而不是arrowweed被support，﹙E﹚中的that刚好符合这个特性，而﹙A﹚不行。

E最大的错误就是，+with 短语有修饰歧义，即可能修饰最近的shades，又可能修饰主语Mojave.

I think it should be E.

"Mojave" is people, and "shades" is house, no ambuity here.

If you choose A, the meaning sounds like "each shade is a roof", if you choose E, the meaning is "the shades have roofs of (such properties)".

我看这题是ETS自己出了毛病.

A: 的问题是supported不能修饰到roof(这好象是OG里强调的). 优点是each 做独立主格来进一步说明 dwellings 的特点是ETS地道的表示方法

E: 的优点就是that are supported能修饰到roof. 这里的with可以解释为修饰dwellings, 用逗号隔开是为了避免变成修饰shades. 但E最大的问题是句意. 修饰 dwellings 用 a roof 就可以了(关于这一点, 请参阅"三个人拥有一台自行车"或者"猿人拥有一个声音管道"). 用 roofs 导致了后面的 a rectangle 问题. 我们可以想象 set in a rectangle 的 posts 如何才能 supported 多个 roofs ?

ETS太毒了....

我做的时候选了E, 但如果实战遇到可能会选A

A中这个each a...怎么看怎么错。 而且后面这个supported 很难说是修饰arrowweed还是啥的。同样，在E中， that are...也是修饰不清楚。 我觉得D虽然看上去不是很好看，但是起码避免了上面的问题。

我也选了E，看了帖后改投A。同意19楼bose0008说的roofs不可能在a retangle，所以复数roofs肯定错。另外，A这种独立结构实在太象ETS的风格（A很象错的，但语意上最对，可以想象出题的人的狞笑－）。

另外可参照OG122，...characters, each character a miniature calligraphic composition inside its own square frame，如出一辙!

划线部分的意思不明白。each引导的是独立主格吗？请多多指教，先谢过~~~~

先说A， each a roof of poles and arrowweed supported by posts set in a rectangle从原句逻辑上来看是ROOF被supported by posts set in a rectangle，但A的表达有歧义，SUPPORTED直接就近修饰了poles and arrowweed 或仅仅就修饰了arrowweed ，再次产生歧义。另外 each a还代考证！

再说E，(E) with roofs of poles and arrowweed that are表达仍有歧义

(D) with roofs of poles and arrowweed to be用不定式，则明确表达了原句的逻辑意思，语法书上也有说明：介词+宾语+宾补是非谓语的正确表达之一，其介词多用WITH，宾补部分和独立主格结构一样，常用分词，不定式，形容词，副词等等，介词后面的宾语（此题中的ROOFS）与其后的宾补有逻辑上的主谓关系（supported by posts set in a rectangle此时明确修饰ROOFS）

所以我同意D，请大家讨论，NN们出山吧！
