这道题正确答案为C。OG给出的B选项错误的理由是begun时态错误。我想问问类似的题目表达，就是在一个核心词后面接从句或者修饰短语，C选项如果去掉which was，直接用construction，officially known as sth. ,began……这种结构对不对啊~还是说限定从句一定要加which was？

结构是对的，但是去掉which was会让句子不够清晰，所以加上更好些。

斑竹，可以具体说下为什么句子不清晰么？去掉which was 之后分词known是不是有修饰construction的嫌疑呀？

首先我觉得这里的which was应该是修饰Roman Colosseum的。
我觉得这里是不是因为省略which was之后会使得known as像是修饰主语construction的是不是呀？？？
求证啊！！！！

which和past past participle在这里的修饰是一样的。不存在这种歧义

我想版主的意思应该是说去掉了which was可能会让读者认为known和begun都是作为修饰成分，hard to process

但是我觉得这里版主所指which was的unclear应该是指定语从句时which was很清晰是指代Roman Colosseum的，但是变成了known as的话，实际上就是有指代整个主语，就是是指代construction的嫌疑了呀！
