knowing when and what to abandon is a great ability. be rational. Even if one has plenty of fund I won't suggest him/her to go to a soso ranked univ. for a master. UTD isn't worth that much. MBA is way more valuable than a biz-master. B-school is a professional school. It calls for professional experience before you go there. Otherwise why don't wharton, HBS, Stanford, Booth etc. provide non-mba? u r just wasting ur time and effort for a master's, especially when the school's brand name does not add much value on you. Basically lower ranked univsities are making benefits on these programs to feed their faculty and their Phd programs. If you have money you can go for a experience. But you never have to. You may concern about your efforts and money paid on G, T and application. But there's a term I think u know which is "sunk cost". u paid it for the information asymmetries and ur thereafter decision, which I regret to say, might be wrong. u didn't know how much value a non-mba business master's degree virtually carries. It's not that much. Pretty much it's even harder for a biz-master(non MBA) here to hunt a job than a bachelor. Cuz companies know that biz-master's education doesn't make much sense, and they see no value to pay the salary margin for a master over a bachelor. Btw no say G is usable for 5 yrs, thus still not a waste indeed. Just personal ideas. I apologize if my words were too harsh. I know everybody has his/her own logic and goals. Indeed in our life for many things there is not right or wrong, but just choices. Again knowing when and what to abandon needs wisdom. All up to you. Wish u the best
