anyone could explain whether"a/the ratio..." in B/C are appositives?

if they are, then there could be other nouns between the two appositives? so appositive could jump?

i have found a similar example in og10:

        

2.Since 1981, when the farm depression began, the number of acres overseen by professional farm-management companies have grown from 48 million to nearly 59 million, an area that is about Colorado's size.

(A)  have grown from 48 million to nearly 59 million, an area that is about Colorado's size

(B)   have grown from 48 million to nearly 59 million, about the size of Colorado

(C)  has grown from 48 million to nearly 59 million, an area about the size of Colorado

(D)  has grown from 48 million up to nearly 59 million, an area about the size of Colorado's

(E)   has grown from 48 million up to nearly 59 million, about Colorado's size

however, "an area" here follows "59 million" immediately.

这题答案选 C 没有疑问

回LS的GG，同位语一般没有跳跃修饰的说法，C里面的 the ratio in 1980是 49 times 的同位语。

as compare to 比较的对象是 recent ratio 的 419 times 和 ratio in 1980 的 49 times.

B 的错误有二：

1、GMAT 里面不用 compare to 表比较，只表比喻，类似的考点在大全和OG里面都很多

2、即便是 compare to 换成 compare with，B 还是错。a ratio that... 做同位语，里面加插一个比较也毫无意义，即没有比较对象，定从的表达也罗嗦。直接说成 a ratio of 49 times in 1980 不就结了？

那A的错是因为419times 与more than搭配吗

这个不对把，如果是这样就是earn more pay than blue worker. 也应该补上earn more pay than blue worker do 把。
