貌似各个版本答案还不一样。。。还是选D。。。

I think C is better. 首先看C和D的区别，C中用的是单数ant，D中用的是复数ants，但其实题目开头的the Argentine ant 就是用的单数，我觉得应该保持统一，另外C和D最大的区别就是C中是engage in the kind of fierce intercolony struggles that limits，而D中是engage in the kind of fierce intercolony struggles that limit，一个limits，一个limit，这个应该是本题区分C和D的关键。我觉得应该用limits，因为that指代的是the kind of fierce intercolony struggles 而非struggles，也就是指代的是单数而非复数，所以limit要加s。

an ant is similar? 用similar来形容，主语应该是复数。前面的单数是来一个物种的名字。
limit当然是指struggles了
