关于2007PREP 2——19题及53题(代词指代问题)

答案为:D



19题中,PREP给出的解释是:that指代同类,即本质的,可以不带修饰部分;it指代原物,带修饰部分。那么我是否可以这样理解呢?it指代的是原文中的hominids'manner,而that指代的只是manner,所以如果用it来指代的话则有逻辑错误。
但是在53题中,PREP给出的解释是:代词用于指代所有格A's B,指代的对象只能是B,不是A。也就是说its只能指代
economic growth,因此指代错误。但是its不能指代economic growth的修饰部分Britain's吗?
按照我的理解,这两道题的解释是矛盾的?还是说这两道题是两种情况?这两道题都可以通过其他方式来得出答案,但代词指代的问题实在是很困扰,还请高人解答。

19题,比较结构后半段用that/those指代的,不用it指代,这是rule不用想太多。
20题的指代和比较结构无关,就是解释的理由。
