时间状语从句变ing，while可不变也可以变成in。when是变成on/upon。所以当你看到时间状语是in doing很可能就是由while sb/sth do转化的，而upon/on doing就是when sb/sth do转化的，其中sb/sth就是主句主语.

按照tianwan斑竹的说法，while being an adolescent从语法上应该是可以的吧？ETS不用它，是否只是因为表示“当某人还是什么什么的时候”这样的意思时，E选项更符合习惯？

while + ing结构在表达状语从句时习惯上大都表示动作性状态的伴随，比如：while working/sitting等等，而A中的while being的表达不太复合习惯，所以用as更好。
