求助一道貌似很常见的题！！

(C) to be an extent
(D) to be an extension
(E) to extend

A中的extending在这里是动名词吗？B有什么不对呢？

我的想法是
1. regard的搭配用as，所以AB备选
2. upward是副词，修饰动词或者形容词，所以extending 最合适了，而B的the extent是名词，副词能修饰名词吗？ well you know the answer

谢谢！那么就是regard as 后面能接非名词咯？extending在这里是什么词性呢？

副词可以修饰动词和形容词嘛~extending是动词的分词形式吧~
