为什么是e不是a？

a，b 是个可以在较快时间被排除的选项。因为that 引导的定语从句不可能跳过谓语动词 is being tested 修饰a new type of jet engine 。在d和e之间，d主要是后面跟or helping，无法同前面的could propel 构成平行并列关系。所以只有e是最好的答案。
但是我本人觉得e选项中的could 和 have the capability to 同时出现在一起也比较少见，但是在本题中只有选他聊。

如果that限定词不可与前面的修饰词隔开是硬规则就好选了。但是看多了题，that被分隔的情况不止一次吧，如大全：
