我说的被动是针对D为什么不对的。。咳咳。。

were differing不行是时态的问题。这里如果要和前面的were determined平行的话时态需要是一般过去式。
为什么要用过去进行时类？强调一直在differ这个动作么？？

1.ved和ving功能可以是相同的，所以在gmat中是可以平行的
2.determine用ed形式因为和修饰对象是动宾关系，local times were determined by sth，而differ和local times之间是主谓关系，是times自己因为城市不同而有所不同local times differ from city to city

解释当中把differed认为是一般过去式，因为其默认固定搭配：local times differ from A to B（主动） , 而不是还有个施动者去做：Sth/ Sb differ(s) local times from city to city,，所以当你用differed，那它只能是differ 的一般过去式，而不是过去分词

最简单解释就是differ from A to B中的differ无法变成被动语态，所以当它加ed，只能是一般过去时中的一般过去式形态，而不是过去分词，所以无法和determined这个过去分词平行

恩恩 ~简言之： D 中 determined 是过去 分词， 而 differed 无 were differed 的说法（无被动说法），所以排除了 differed 做分词的形式，那么只剩下 differed 做 过去式了。

看到你写的是D，还以为我选错了，还好选对了。其实，这道题，我没有那么复杂的分析： local times 是被确定于（determined by)...而 时间变化是自己本身发生的事情，用主动：differing。--考了小逻辑上的问题。这道题，在OG12中的42题也有体现，好好品味OG12的42题，对你这种题有帮助。
