第一次做 GWD...I am totally confused by this standard answer B. C 明显就是符合语法规则,C突然多个it,我们却得为之解释是因为主语太远... 突然感觉这个考试还真无聊. 怪不得跟老外讲要考到700以上, 人家都睁大双眼看. 也许小女理解还不到家...哎, 俺就 以OG为本,OG为本.GWD为练习感觉...

It's easy for you to say B is correct, and "it" cannot be omit after learning that B is the correct answer, but to be honest, if similar question, not the exactly the same one appear in the exam, I probably would choose C again!

看了6页的讨论，认为C正确。前面那个朗曼字典的例子有道理。去掉the army的修饰成分，原句就是这样：

the army (of terra-cotta warriors created to
protect Qin Shi Huang, China’s
first emperor, in his afterlife) is more than 2,000 years old and
        took
700,000 artisans more than 36 years to complete.

"Is more than 2,000 years old" 只是一个并列的成分. and前后的主语都是the army. 所以，the army took....to comete "it", 这个it是多余的。不能因为前面修饰成分多导致complete离它的逻辑宾语远而加一个it.

同意shero的看法。

查了一下，we took two years to complete it (the reviews or something else). 这里it不能省略。

但这道题是the army took 7000 artisans 36 years to complete.没有必要用it指代做宾语，因为本身这里是take是主动表示被动
