这道题考的就是对称， 对比 有了canal 之前和之后，那么最好用两个句子完成，中间 用分号隔开，形成对比。
Before the opening of the Erie Canal in 1825, moving a ton of wheat from Buffalo to New York City took three weeks and cost $100; on the canal the move took less than eight days and cost less than $6
E  前面是 to move 不定式的形式，后面是 the move  是名词的形式，是不对称的，
before the opening of the Erie Canal 和后面的in using the canal 也不对称啊~

我觉得E改变句意了啊，原句的意思是“运河开发前，运送一吨麦子会花三周时间和100块”，强调的是这个事件， 如果换成E的话就是“为了运送一吨麦子...”强调目的。
而且costing不是修饰前面整句话的，cost应该和three weeks平行，因为是一个主语发出的两个不同的动作，没有修饰关系。
