暂时不讨论其他的问题，来看看这个句子的虚拟.....ＯＧ给的解释说 if x happened, then Y would happen....明显的对现在虚拟条件句...排除出题人故意的思路，本人怎么看这个句子怎么觉得用现在虚拟条件句有问题。首先是大环境在过去（ first half of the...)  其次 明显的动词过去式 assumed. 怎么排也排不到现在..
按照虚拟的意思就是说实际上他们过去占有grip on Morocco, 如果不占有Morocco, 他们就怎么怎么样 这个应该是个明显的与过去不符的虚拟条件。如果是过去虚拟的话 那么是不是得用would have been. 个人的意见 欢迎拍砖

如果是would have been的话，那么前面应该是if x had done吧。
所以不是would have been
