虽然D的语感非常好，但还是应该选择E。

ETS的倾向是从句〉介词短语，ETS总是认为With引导的介词短语不那么清晰。

本题的while之意可以参看韦氏字典：

这里的while应该表达一种伴随状态。理解为：随着。。。；或：在。。。的同时

况且in the last year（请注意一定有THE）是完成式的标志。

1)in the last year是可以用现在完成时的:

FORM Present Perfect:

USE 1 Unspecified Time Before Now"

NOTICE "Last year" and "in the last year" are very different in meaning. "Last year" means the year before now. "In the last year" means from 365 days ago until now.

2)此处无转折之意:

        now using their mobile phones to make calls across a wide region at night and on weekends, when numerous wireless companies provide unlimited airtime for a relatively small monthly fee. 如果有转折之意我认为不应该在此再强调范围wide和精确的时间at night and on weekends,正因为强调了范围和时间,所以应该是说明由于前面的原因所以这个范围和时间扩大了.

3)with+n./pron.+现在分词（过去分词、介词短语、不定式、形容词等）在此作独立主格,用法没有问题.

我觉得我们不应该把研究ETS语法当成钻牛角尖的理由(不好意思,这样说),而是通过判断选择一个相对来说错误最少的那个就可以了,如果D这里没有太强硬的错误,为什么不选它呢? 毕竟GMAT语法只是选择最优的,而不是正确的.

总算看到最后一页了，不留点什么对不起这么长的帖子。选D。

只说一点原因，with + N +doing是标准的独立主格做状语，N就是Doing的逻辑主语，没有什么修饰错误的问题。

我选D，一直憋着劲找和我观点一样的人，一致到ring-cheng(?),心里才踏实了。本来就是独立主格结构嘛，怎么跟主语扯到一起呢。

选E的人请再读一遍E选项，如果要表现对比意思的话，应该是"many people are now STILL using their cellphone ONLY in night and weekend"。这里对比转折的意思太不明显了，而且晚上和周末免费这样的背景知识对美国以外的人很不公平的。

而且选项E里面的 has plumbered in last year大家不觉得时态有问题么？：）
