D, that allow that the Earth-Moon distance can be measured precisely by lasers, scientists were able to determine that the moon is moving away

The given answer is D, but I think B is better. "move from" and "move away from", which one is better? And which tense is better in this case?

我认为是D。

1、mirrors that allow 。。。中心语是mirrors，是作为前面的mirrors的同位语；而mirrors allowing则构不成同位语，只能是独立主格结构，不太合适。（我一直是这么判断的，请NN进一步确认！）

2、时态用一般时较好，科学家们只要用这些镜子就能做什么；过去能这样，现在能，以后照样可以。

3、move away from是可以的，用google搜一下这个词组吧。
