稍微想了下也只有D符合逻辑语意上的转折

有个小问题，D里的but it also，

首先膜拜在那没有答案的岁月里，能讨论出如此高水平，如此深度的NN们。

在前人的基础上，自己总结如下：

句子结构：

The systematic clearing…created…and gave…, but it also caused…and deforested…

 

A.    not only 位于句首时，所引导的句子要用倒装，give和create是and连接的两个并列成分，而时态已经被did提前，只能用原形。所以这里gave错。But it also没有错。例见大全354.

B.    Which定语从句修饰farmland，逻辑意义错误，是systematic clearing给了consumers houses and furniture，不是farmland。

C.    But also之前无谓语，片段。

D.    正确。But it also,转折前后句，说明systematic clearing既带来了好东西，也带了坏东西，also的使用，精妙。

E.     Giving修饰created,改变了原来的句意：并列的两个动作。Not only…but…可以，但不如not only…but also…优。例见大全189、241.

这题注意A选项的gave错----动词形式优先not only but also结构；

but it also这个结构是对的；

逻辑意思的表达，这个才是王道啊 ETS越来越阴险了

并列的动作不要转成修饰状语

偶感觉偶又要开始汗了，汗流浃背～～偶又要跳出来推翻偶过去的意见了～～～

反对D。支持A。A的gave不一定跟着did，did说不定只对应creat一个动词，后面的gave和did creat时态保持一致！表达的是前后顺接的关系。也就是说，did倒装强调的只有creat一个动作，而gave是creat以后产生的顺接的一个结果，并不是和creat并列的动作！所以did其实只强调了creat这一个动作。gave的时态没有错误。

not only＋倒装＋but...also的例子前面举过很多了，一旦倒装就变成这样，估计是固定用法。

前面ABCD都同意，总结的很好！但是E最主要的错误在与 the systematic clearing of forests  not only... but ( also) ,主语已经存在了，but 后面的It多余
