今天看OG的时候惊然发现ETS竟然认可has become的说法,由此说来,A中的had become应该也是没有问题的,OG 136 如下:

136. Although schistosomiasis is not often fatal, it is so debilitating that it has become an economic drain on many developing countries.

(A)  it is so debilitating that it has become an economic

(B)   it is of such debilitation, it has become an economical

(C)  so debilitating is it as to become an economic

(D)  such is its debilitation, it becomes an economical

(E)   there is so much debilitation that it has become an economical

Choice A is best: is links the noun schistosomiasis with its modifier, debilitating, and so debilitating that idiomatically introduces a clause that provides a further explanation of debilitating. Choices B, D, and E produce awkward, wordy, imprecise, or unidiomatic phrases by substituting the noun debilitation for the modifier debilitating. Choices B and D fail to introduce the explanatory clause with that, and C uses an awkward and wordy construction in place of a that... clause. Finally, B, D, and E wrongly use economical instead of economic to mean "pertaining to the economy."

如此这般,那我也只好改投A了。

GWD9-15

had become不是不能用。

的确,become是瞬间的动作;但只要不出现表示一段时间的状语,那么had become是可以用的,而had become ill for two years,这样就错了,不能说“两年来一直在become ill”

我认同liu_9000对A错误的阐述。

如果将injured...看成分词,为什么不可以.

还是不觉得D有什么地方不对啊

偶一开始选的是D,但看了上面的解释,A似乎也没什么错。我现在疑惑的是injure在这里是否应该用was injured????

恭请NN确认!!!谢谢先!!

GWD-9-15,帮你顶一下,我也想知道最后结果,我最初选的也是D。

GWD-9-Q15

Dressed as a man and using the name Robert Shurtleff, Deborah Sampson, the first

woman to draw a soldier’s pension, joined the Continental Army in 1782 at the age of 22,

was injured three times, and was discharged in 1783 because she had become too ill to

serve.

A. 22, was injured three times, and was discharged in 1783 because she had become

B. 22, was injured three times, while being discharged in 1783 because she had
become
C. 22, and was injured three times, and discharged in 1783, being
D. 22, injured three times, and was discharged in 1783 because she was
E. 22, having been injured three times and discharged in 1783, being

A is the best choice, becasue both parallelism and tense of verb are correct.

parallelism: joined, was injured, and was discharged

tense of verb: "had become ill" happened before and was the reason of "was discharged"

同 意 ethyl的 看 法 , C里 uses 的 主 语 变 成 cigarette, 应 是 tobacco company 才 对 。

不 是 nn, 但 总 结 一 些 我 的看 法 , 供 参 考 :

A. Correct

B. they错 ; which 错 在 指 代 前 面 的 整 个 句 子;  in decreasing -> to
decrease 表 明 目 的 ;which slows 错 ,which 指 代 最 近 的 cigarette, 但 是 应
是 这 个 设 计 slows,  不 是 cigarette slows

C. that uses 错在uses的 主 语 不应  是 cigarette; it 有 歧 义 , 虽 然 和 oxygen很
近 , 好 象 是 指 代 oxygen, 但 句 子 后 面 又 有 一 个 it :  it burns, 这 里 的 it指
cigarette, 所 以 一 个 句 子 里 同 时 出 现 2个 it, 一 般 情 况下 两 个 代 词 应 该 指 代 同 一 个
词 。

D. for     错 -> in;    and 多 余 ,破 坏 分 词 状 语

E.  in decreasing -> to decrease 表 明 目 的; ;which slows 错 ;
using 无 大 错 , 但 是 不 如 in which 好 , 因 为 in which 明 确 指 明 多 层 薄 纸 是 加 在
cigarette中 的 , 而 using 无 此 功 能
