we should describe the actions of the stinger such as e, because actually it is the action that leads to the result, not the stinger itself.

2)  "they" should refer back to the subject of the sentence, remember that the subject is NOT "the investors"; rather, the subject is "not ONE of the investors,". thus the use of they here is not recommend.
